AI Architect

About the project

For a major banking environment we are looking for a highly senior expert at the intersection of AI strategy, enterprise architecture, analytics and technology risk, who will act as a strategic advisor for decisions on the use of artificial intelligence.

This is not a delivery role. We are looking for a visionary with an analytical and security mindset who can define direction, evaluate solution options and help the bank's leadership make sound and secure technology decisions.

The cooperation takes the form of consulting at approximately 20% capacity.

Mission

• Define the strategic direction for the use of AI in the context of the bank
• Assess and compare different approaches (LLMs, ML models, hybrid solutions, rule-based approaches)
• Structured evaluation of how each solution option impacts data, architecture, operations, cost and security
• Identify technological, regulatory, security and reputational risks related to AI
• Advise on the integration of AI solutions into the existing banking ecosystem (core systems, data platforms, APIs)
• Collaborate with the architecture, security, risk and compliance teams
• Translate business needs into a technology and data concept
• Prepare materials for senior management and board decision-making
• Present recommendations and defend the proposed direction at leadership level

Vision

• Proven experience with the architecture or strategy of IT/AI solutions in a banking environment (mandatory)
• Experience designing AI / Data solutions at large-organisation scale
• Strong overlap between technology, business and analytical impact assessment
• Ability to compare solution options and formulate clear, analysis-based recommendations
• Awareness of the security aspects of AI and data solutions (architectural security, handling sensitive data, model risks)
• Familiarity with topics such as model risk, explainability, data governance and AI regulation
• Experience designing integration architecture and assessing impacts on existing banking systems
• Ability to communicate with architects, security, data teams and senior management
• Experience presenting to C-level or the board

A big plus

• Experience creating an AI strategy or technology roadmap in a bank
• Experience as Chief Architect / Head of Architecture / CTO / AI Lead in a financial institution
• Knowledge of the regulatory framework and risk management in banking
• Experience in environments with high data protection and security demands
• Experience deciding between on-prem and cloud AI architectures
