Test Manager

We are looking for an experienced Test Manager to take responsibility for planning, managing, and coordinating testing activities within projects. Your role will involve establishing an effective testing strategy, overseeing the entire testing lifecycle, and ensuring the high quality of delivered solutions.

You will work closely with project managers, business users, internal and external testers, and developers. Key aspects of the role include integrating testing early into the project lifecycle, continuously evaluating quality, and supporting the safe deployment of changes into the production environment.

Experience in an international project environment and knowledge of the energy sector or energy trading are considered an advantage.

• Design and implement testing strategies and plans in alignment with project goals and stakeholder requirements.
• Manage the entire testing lifecycle—from specification and planning through execution to evaluation and reporting.
• Ensure that testing activities are incorporated during the early stages of a project and provide ongoing support to the project team.
• Design test cases and scenarios that cover both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Plan all testing activities and ensure the availability of test environments and necessary test data.
• Coordinate the execution of planned tests, including functional, system, integration, end-to-end (E2E), user acceptance (UAT), regression, and non-functional testing.
• Ensure that fixed defects are re-tested and continuously monitor their status.
• Set up test and defect reporting, regularly evaluate results, and provide updates on the testing progress.
• Actively communicate with stakeholders, coordinate testing activities, and organize necessary meetings.
• Collaborate with project managers, business users, internal and external testers, and developers to ensure the high quality of delivered solutions.
• Secure business sign-off prior to production deployment and, as needed, support the execution of runbooks and the actual production deployment.

• At least 5 years of experience in test management and a minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing.
• Experience managing testing within an international project environment, ideally in the energy or trading sectors.
• A university degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• ISTQB Test Manager certification or an equivalent qualification.
• Practical experience with project and test management tools, specifically JIRA, Confluence, and Xray.
• The ability to create clear, understandable, and comprehensive test cases, as well as to design and execute various types of test scenarios.
• Thorough knowledge of the SDLC, QA, and the lifecycle of test cases and defects within an Agile environment.
• An understanding of the energy sector and/or trading, along with the ability to grasp how applications, technologies, and IT services support the relevant business processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a team-oriented approach, goal orientation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent English; knowledge of German or French is an advantage.
