Vilém Raška: Diversity and freedom keep me at DEVCITY
An interview with Vilém Raška about what motivates him to stay at DEVCITY after more than three years.

Vilém Raška, who has been part of the DEVCITY team for more than three years, reveals in this interview what motivates him to stay with the company. His main motivating factor is the diversity of the projects he works on and the freedom he enjoys in his work. According to him, DEVCITY offers a pleasant, startup-like working environment where the focus is on real results without constant supervision. All of this allows him to concentrate on projects that keep him engaged and fulfilled in the long run.
Vilém, you are the first person we're interviewing to introduce our team. What is your main motivation to work for DEVCITY? You have been with the company for more than three years.
You know, it hadn't even occurred to me that I've been working here for three years. It's actually my longest professional experience. At the same time, during that period I have worked on four different projects. And that is probably my biggest motivation. I don't think I would enjoy being stuck on a single project long-term.
So it's fair to say that the diversity of projects is what motivates you most?
Yes, but it's not just about the projects. The atmosphere in the company is very important as well. In terms of its environment, DEVCITY feels like a startup, even though it isn't really one. There's a pleasant atmosphere and everything is built on the work you actually deliver. I don't have someone constantly looking over my shoulder. That freedom is a huge motivation for me.
What project are you currently working on? And how is it decided who will work on which project?
I'm working on the development of an online automation platform. In my view, DEVCITY has a remarkable feel for choosing both projects and the people who work on them. Honestly, I don't know how they do it, but consistently they manage to match the right people with the right projects. Thanks to that, my work is still enjoyable.
If you could choose, what kinds of projects do you enjoy most?
DEVCITY works on a whole range of interesting projects. If I had to say what I enjoy most, it's projects that make people's work easier. Whether it's online services or solutions for the real world, I always enjoy it when technology brings genuine value.
